Hung over and tired as we were from the night before but still willing to discover all the interesting and nice places in Georgia, we thought it might be nice to enjoy the weather somewhere outside! "Serious fun and endless adventure" - that's how Stone Mountain's website describes this beautiful place...anyway - we were just looking for a nice surrounding for our picnic which we found :)
Stone Mountain is the world's largest piece of exposed granite which is located about 15 minutes away from Downtown Atlanta. But how to get up there to enjoy the wonderful view of the Atlanta Skyline??
Okay, to be honest - yeah, we could have walked all the way up and down. But after only 4 hours of sleep no one of us raised any objections just to pay for the "Skyride" - a swiss cable car that whisked us up to the top. Perfect!
After our picnic, silly photo sessions and walk around on top of the mountain, we took the cable car down again and discovered the tiny western style village including all the well expensive candy, toy and souvenir shops.
The weather was the perfect t-shirt weather - blue sky, sunny and warm. Can't believe it's already December next month!
